Tuzla, November 16-17, 2022 – Development Programming Institute of Federation of BiH organized the ninth Meeting of Cantonal Development Planning Practitioners Network.
The Cantonal Development Planning Practitioners Network is a mechanism for efficient coordination of planning, implementation and monitoring of development of Federation of BiH. Regular meetings of the informal group result in more qualitative system of planning, implementation and monitoring of development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. To this meeting, representatives of cantons were gathered by UNDP ILDP Project, from now on it will be done by Federal Institute, as the institution in charge for development planning coordination in Federation of BiH.
During the two days, discussions were about work improvement of all cantonal development planning units, and the Federal Institute informed about the practice at the level of Federation of BiH, along with the presentation of new form of Development Report of FBiH for 2021, that reflects the implementation of FBiH Development Strategy 2021-2027. Further improvement of planning system coordination (modernizing of digital communication among institutions), implementation (program budgeting) and development monitoring (processing of relevant data), have been agreed.
Representatives of Council for Monitoring of the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in BiH presented the progress in implementation of the Framework for Sustainable Development Goals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, specially the activities at the local level, and the preparation of BiH Voluntary Report for 2023, on Agenda 2030 implementation.
Aiming at accelerated implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in BiH, through support to public management systems, with the private sector engagement in green and inclusive community growth, UNDP launched the SDG2BiH Program. UNDP Team represented the Program to the participants, inviting for cooperation.
Representatives of Directorate for Economic Planning of BiH informed about the process of creation of Economic Reform Program and Smart Specialization Strategy for BiH.
Economic Reform Program is the highest level of European Union engagement with the country. It is a ground for common dialogue on economic policy, job creation and social inclusion, moreover for meeting the economic criteria in the process of accession to the European Union.
Concept of Smart Specialization Strategy is a new concept of development planning that connects industrial and innovation policies, aiming at innovative economic development, emphasizing investments grounded on knowledge and innovations.
