ILDP Final Conference

ILDP introduced a number of improvements in 23 partner municipalities in BiH through the implementation of projects related to economic and social development and environmental protection.

Final Conference of the Integrated Local Development Project (ILDP) in BiH was held in Sarajevo, whith more than 50 project partners present. Over the past three years this project has contributed to the strategic planning harmonization at the local level in BiH through the design and implementation of a unique approach to planning now available to local self-government units throughout BiH.

Referring the results achieved during the project implementation, the project partners agreed that the future challenges will be further application of a unified approach to development planning throughout BiH as well as the effective implementation of existing development strategies. The need to strengthen vertical links between local development strategies and top level strategic documents is also highlighted, along with development funds to be allocated to priorities and needs at the local level.

Recognizing the contribution of the partners, the project team gave certificate for more than 50 mayors and other representatives of local governments as well as for 30 representatives of partner ministries and institutions from all levels of government. Thomas Rüegg, Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in BiH, and Armin Sircko, Assistant to UNDP Resident Representative in BiH, thanked all the partners for the commitment and support that contributed the successful implementation of the ILDP.
