Workshop Held for Presentation of Methodology for Development Index Calculation for LSU and Cantons in Federation of Bosnia and Hercegovina

Sarajevo, December 03, 2018- Federal Institute for Development Planning in Cooperation with Local Integrated Development Planning Project, a joint project of the Government of Switzerland an UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented the methodology for the calculation of development index at the level of local self-government units and cantons in Federation. Document that was presented, along with the goals and analysis, contain the review of the practices of the neighboring countries, as well as the proposal for the new methodology.

The new methodology was developed in cooperation with Prof Dr Muamer Halilbašić, from  Economic Institute in Sarajevo. Present at the workshop were representatives of the Union of cities and municipalities in Federation BiH, cantonal governments, as well as the representatives of federal institutions.

All participants agreed that the drafted methodology proposal is a solid base for the creation of the Bylaw on the Development Index Calculation, this is an obligation defined by Law on Development Planning and Management in Federation BiH.
